Review

I'm not gonna lie, I was very hesitant to read this book considering that I hated the first two books in the series. I gave both of them one star because they were all spice and no plot and the writing was not good. So, I was pleasantly surprised by Daydream. I really liked that there was actual character development in this book and it wasn't just the MC's being spicy every two seconds. I think the Grace did a good job writing a slow burn because her other two books were instalust, which made me weary of whether or not she could be able to pull off a proper slow burn romance.

Halle is probably one of my favourite FMC of all time. Her character was so relatable, especially being an oldest daughter myself, I really resonated with her need to always put everyone first and having to manage everything for everyone. The feeling of never being appreciated for everything that you do, being expected to to be there for everyone all the time, but no one is ever there for you. I felt that Halle was a very realistic character because she was going through a lot of emotions and problems that many people can relate to. I loved that she wasn't afraid to be herself and just do her. She gets brownie points for being a book worm. She had amazing character growth throughout the book.

Henry is literally book boyfriend goals. He was so patient and understanding with Halle. The ADHD rep with him was amazing. I know quite a few people who are diagnosed with it and I think it was portrayed pretty realistically. Henry was also a people pleaser in his own way, especially when it came to the hockey team. He had great character growth and reached his full potential. Henry is the kind of boyfriend that every oldest daughter needs.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and I actually really enjoyed Daydream. I would recommend it even if you didn't like the other two books. It's worth the read!
