Review
I had very high expectations for this because I'm huge EH fan and this book has been so hyped in the online book community. So, my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.  I was not rooting for Wyn and Harriet to get back together. They had zero chemistry and were incompatible. Everyone in this book was very immature for their age, like why can't all these grown adults just communicate with each other?

Wyn was an absolute tool. He did not deserve Harriet in the slightest bit, this man literally dumped her text after being engaged and  together for almost 10 years !!! You have to be an absolute POS to do that to someone. He also never took accountability for the fact that what he did was shitty, instead he doubles down and blames it on things that were going on in his life at the time. Like sir, she was your fiancee of course she would be there for you during a hard time, there was no need to dump her. All he did for the whole book was whine about his life and feel sorry for himself, like no one cares, the world doesn't revolve around you. I genuinely don't think he ever loved Harriet, I think he only loves himself.
Harriet was such a pushover for Wyn and at times, a simp. She was always excusing his shitty behaviour. She just kept giving up her happiness for him throughout the book, while he never once did that for her. I hated that she was a doormat and it seemed that her whole world revolved around Wyn. Harriet would literally do anything for Wyn but all he cared about was himself. I wanted Harriet to realize her self-worth and move on from him. She really just needed to learn how to love herself and wished she'd gotten the therapy she so desperately needed. But I guess her character was realistic of some people's situations, there are women out there who would do anything for the man they loved but that same man would not reciprocate.
Overall, it was not for me even though I love EH's other books.
