Review:

I just have to say it, where was the Christmasy atmosphere? They didn't do anything related to Christmas, the only Christmasy thing was that it takes place during the holidays. Besides that, the MCs has zero chemistry which is weird because they're exes, so they had deep feelings for each other at one point. There is zero banter between them and it's mostly just the FMC being mean to the MMC the whole book. None of their interactions had me feeling butterflies, I felt nothing reading their interactions because it was just that bland and boring.

Chuck and Kate were both so annoying. They literally just dragged on the whole fake dating thing to the point where they almost got married!!! I didn't understand why they were so unwilling to tell their parents that they broke up months ago. Also, their families (and town) were way too involved in their love life. It felt like everyone was just forcing them to be together no matter what. The parents were also so annoying, especially Kate's mom. Like she was eavesdropping on Chuck and Kate and then came to the conclusion that Kate was pregnant. She also was terrible at listening to Kate. Kate told her that she's not pregnant but refused to believe her and then started spreading false rumours.

Their parents buying them a whole house before they even began planning the wedding was crazy. That's what I mean by everyone just forces them to be in a relationship, but it still could've been avoided if Kate and Chuck had just told their parents the truth from the beginning. I didn't like that Chuck gave off incel vibes, always making comments about Marco because he's into fitness and conventionally attractive. It came across as because Chuck is a "nice guy™️", that he's better than Marco and that Kate should like him instead. Chuck was just an ick to be honest. Kate was obviously a cheater and I hated how the author kept trying to make it seem otherwise. Chuck says that Kate started dating Marco almost immediately after they broke up, which means that she was already talking to Marco before they broke up, which is emotional cheating at the very least.

Everyone in this book was insufferable and I did not enjoy this book at all.
