Review
I went into These Infinite Threads expecting the plot to be more fast paced compared to the first book, and boy was I wrong. This book was completely just world building with no plot. Literally nothing happens in 400+ pages. I was very close to DNFing it because it was that boring and uneventful. It seems as though Mafi is relying on the third book for all the action, I'm a bit hesitant to read to third book when it comes out because it might be all vibes and not plot. The premise of the series being based in Persian Folklore is really interesting because Persian culture and history is so rich and vibrant. I really enjoyed This Woven Kingdom, which is why I was quite disappointed with These Infinite Threads. The pacing of the book was terrible because the whole 416 pages of this books takes place in ONE DAY??? I also, really don't understand all the five star ratings, they feel a little biased in my opinion.
Alizeh and Cyrus were honestly the only interesting thing in the book. At least their plotline had some intresting things going on, which cannot be said for Kamran. I really don't like when authors separate the love interests and then introduce a second love interest, it's kind of annoying.
Don't get me started on Kamran. Throughout the book he was being used as punching bag and was overall so weak and useless. His chapters were in fact a snooze fest, he actually had no plot in this book. Also, he had such an attitude for some reason. I found myself skimming his chapters because I was falling asleep and he was getting on my nerves.
Overall, the book wasn't bad, I enjoyed the world building, but in terms of plot, nothing happened. These Infinite Threads felt like a filler. I would recommend skipping Kamran's chapters to be honest.
