Review

The plot was unlike any romance novel I've ever read and I absolutely loved it. A female bodyguard who is tasked with protecting a famous actor while pretending to be his girlfriend, how could you not be interested. I enjoyed Center's writing style, I can say that she's really good at writing comedy and banter.

Hannah was a certfied baddie and has become one of my favorite female characters. She was very strong, independent and a total girl boss. I really enjoyed reading from her perpsective because she was so witty and funny. I felt that Hannah was relatable to a lot of readers because she struggled with feeling like she wasn't worthy of love and that she wasn't a lovable person based on her past experiences.

Jack was swoonworthy. However, he was more than just a pretty face and struggled a lot behind the scenes with his own demons that he had to hide for the sake of his career and reputation. I liked that he wasn't afraid to be vulnerable with Hannah even though they didn't know each other that well. We stan a man who's not afraid to open up about their feelings.

Overall, I really loved The Bodyguard and would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, lighthearted romance novel that'll having you laughing and swooning.

Spoiler portion begins now!!!!!

Stop reading if you haven't read The Bodyguard !!!!!

You have been warned!!!!!

Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers!

The Corgi Lady stalker had me cackling every time she was mentioned. Robby was a huge pos,the way he talked about Hannah was truly disgusting and I'm glad she didn't fall for his act of wanting to get back together because she deserved so much better and found that with Jack.

Now for some of my favourite lines:

"..my ex-boyfriend's lousy, ratty, deplorable face."

"It licked me. With intention."

"You look like a victorian child" "I do not look like a victorian child. A Victorian child would have lace and ribbons. And a little night cap on its head."

"Did you just call me 'stumpy'?" "In a good way, Stumps."

"You've got the sariest job of anybody I know, but you're afraid of horse lips."

"Why is you bwok-ing like a chicken working on me? Why does everything you do work on me?

"Settle down horse boy. Just because you're the Simone Biles of horse gymnastics doesn't mean the rest of us have to be."

"I've got eye liner in my purse. Maybe we could draw a mustache on you." "Can I get a monocle, too? and a puppy nose and some whiskers?"
